What is required to install ASellerTool on my PDA? Everyone needs to have ActiveSync installed on your desktop computer. ActiveSync is a free software that usually comes with your PDA package. If your PDA is running Pocket PC 2003, Windows Mobile 2003, Windows Mobile 5.0, there is no other prerequisite, and you can install ASellerTool on your PDA right away. If your PDA is running Pocket PC 2000, or Pocket PC 2002, you will need to download Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 1.0 and install to your PDA. It is a free download from Microsoft web site. To install ASellerTool, follow the steps at http://www.asellertool.com/ent/info.html. Is cell-phone or Internet connection required? No, you do not need Internet connection for your PDA. Some high-end PDA models come with WiFi connection. WiFi is an optional feature. With WiFi you will be able to download data to your PDA in locations with WiFi connection (e.g. some libraries). Without WiFi, in order to download data to you PDA, you need to connect your PDA to a desktop PC which have Internet connection. Make sure ActiveSync is at "Connected" state. Is scanner required? No, scanner is an optional equipment. But scanning a barcode is much faster than entering the ISBN/UPC manually into the PDA. If I decide to go with a scanner, which scanner should I get? We recommend CF (CompactFlash) card Scanner, or cordless bluetooth scanner. Bluetooth scanner costs more, but it is more handy. What is sound notification? No, earpiece is optional, but it further speeds up your scouting. If the link does not work, then simply search for "Download ActiveSync 4.2" in Google. "Soft Reset" is usually performed by punching a small hole at the back of your PDA with your stylus. With Dell Axim, the hole is at the back , but with other PDA the hold may be located somewhere else. We highly recommend user to "Soft Reset" your PDA , before you install our program or upgrade to a new version. It takes around 10 to 30 mintues, exact time depends on a couple of factors: 1. The speed of your Internet connection at home. 2. Whether you are using "Desktop PC data Downloader" or downloading directly from PDA. Downloading with "Desktop PC data Downloader" can save you from 3 to 15 minutes, depending on the speed of your desktop. 3.
