Troubleshooting problems with downloading pricing database from PDA
NOTE: When download fails, please take a look at the error message showing on the PDA screen. Pay attention to both the message shown on the message box in the middle of the screen, and the message shown at the bottom of the screen
Download problem #1:
Check if any of the error message you got is "similar" to ANY ONE of the followings: ("similar" means the wordings may NOT be exactly the same)
Resolution to download problem #1 above:
The error message you got indicates Internet connection was interrupted during the download. Please shut down ALL firewall AND anti-virus AND Internet security software, before downloading again. And Always make sure you see the word "Connected" on the ActiveSync screen, before downloading
If you are using Windows XP, make sure you shut down the "Windows Firewall" on your PC by going to "Control Panel" -> Security Center -> Windows Firewall
If same problem occurs after taking the actions above , the next solution is to use "PC Downloader" to download, instead of downloading directly from PDA. To use "PC Downloader", please click here to go to tutorial of using PC Downloader
If you encounter similar problem with PC Downloader, please make sure you have upgraded to PC downloader 4.2 by following upgrade instruction here.
Download problem #2:
Check if any of the error message you got is "similar" to ANY ONE of the followings: ("similar" means the wordings may NOT be exactly the same)
Resolution to download problem #2 above:
Please contact our support team with the following information: (1) ASellertool User ID, (2) password, (3) paypal email address used for subscription OR email address used for signing up free-trial
ASellertool User ID and password can be obtained by
1. Open ASellertool program on PDA,
2. Click "menu" on bottom left
3. tap "License"
Email us at support@asellertool.com with the information above and the exact error message you got.
Troubleshooting problems with scanning barcode
Scanning problem #1:
When scanning barcode, got the following error message: "Config file is missing" OR "Config file not found"
Resolution to scanning problem #1 above
Step 1: ASellertool version 4.5 will help addressing this problem.

Scanning problem #2:
When scanning barcode, a large percentage of scanning result in "Invalid ISBN" OR "Not Found"
Resolution to scanning problem #2 above
1. For books, please make sure you scan ONLY the ISBN barcode, and NOT UPC barcode. For some pocket sized books , the ISBN barcode is on the first page, not at the back of the book.
2. If you have followed instruction above, and still get a lot of "Invalid ISBN", then please make sure "Bookland EAN" conversion is set for the scanner, by the following steps:
(1) Activate the scanner on the PDA
(2) Click on the "scanner logo" located on the bottom right corner on the PDA screen.
(3) Click on "Symbology Selector"
(4) Make sure "Bookland EAN" is checked or selected
Troubleshooting "Please insert SD Memory Card....." when SD Card is already in PDA , OR "......storage memory is critically low......"
Resolution - Follow the 4 steps below:
Step 1 - Clear empty folders by doing followings:
1. Soft-Reset your PDA. Then connect your PDA to PC, wait until you see "Connected" on the ActiveSync screen on PC.
2. Go to your desktop/laptop, open "Windows Explorer" (To open windows explorer, you can right click on the "Start Menu", and then click "Explorer All Users"
3. On Windows Explorer, scroll down the list of folders until you find the folder called "Mobile Device"
, open this folder by clicking or expanding.
4. Open folder "My window Mobile Base Device" by clicking or expanding.
5. Find the folder(s) with names similar to "SD Card".
Chances are you might see more than one of it, with names similar to "SD Card", "SD Card2", "SD Card3"............. "SD Card9".
For "SD Card" folder that the name ends with a number, we will refer them as "SD Card(n)" folder
6. For each "SD Card" or "SD Card(n)" folder
, there may be a "Data" folder underneath.
7. For each "SD Card" or "SD Card(n)" folder, if the "Data"
folder underneath is empty (No files)
, please delete the corresponding "SD Card" or "SD Card(n)" folder.
If the "SD Card" or "SD Card(n)" folder do NOT contain a "Data" folder
, please also delete the corresponding "SD Card" or "SD Card(n)" folder
Step 2 : Upgrade to version 4.5
