Best practices for using your equipments & scouting program

We have the following 4 recommendations for using ASellertool with your PDA:


#1 - Power setting (highly recommended)

By factory default setting, the PDA is configured to turn off automatically when the PDA is idle for 3 minutes. While this setting saves battery power, it may cause unnecessary interruption to the scouting program or scanner socket connection, or give out the error message "The battery latch was open" .

To turn off this setting, please do the following:

  1. Go to PDA Window start page on your PDA
  2. click the "start menu" on upper left corner
  3. click "Settings" icon
  4. click "System" tab on bottom middle
  5. click "Power" icon
  6. click "Advanced" tab on bottom
  7. On the screen, UNCHECK the box for "turn off device if not used for"
  8. click "ok" button on top right

If you decide to turn off the setting as described above, you have set the PDA to Manual power ON/OFF. Then after using PDA, You need to Turn OFF PDA manually by pressing the power buttun.



#2 - Scanner and SD Card

Since the socket in PDA for attaching the scanner and SD card are mechanical parts , we recommend users not to unplug and plug-in the socket scanner or SD card too often. When you need to do so, first close asellertool program, then switch off PDA by pressing power button, and then do the plugging-in very gently. Plugging-in too hard may cause damage to the socket inside the PDA.



#3 - Download with SD Card reader as the last download option

ASellertool provides 4 different methods for downloading pricing database, details can be found at www.asellertool.com/ent/download.html . Downloading with SD Card reader is the last one we suggest users to try, and only as the last option, when the other 3 methods do not work properly.
