Get "IO Exception" when trying to download data

***** NOTE: If you are using ASellerTool Version 7.x you MUST user a 1GB SD card, Ultra II or Sandisk, or you will continue to receive this error *****

This error is caused because our database is more than 250 MB, and if the PDA is used to download data it will have 2 copies of the data on the card. This will then exceed the cards capacity and cause the download to fail, resulting in an IO Exception.

There are 2 ways to fix this error:

Method 1: Download directly to SD card using SD Card Reader and PC Downloader (Prefect for Dell X5 or PDA with Bluetooth scanner)

Install and run the PC downloader

Take SD card out of the scanner
Put SD card in SD reader
Put USB Reader into open USB slot
Connect PDA to computer
1. Place PDA in cradle and connect USB cable into computer
2. XP – Wait for ActiveSync to say “Synchronized”
3. Vista or Windows 7 – Wait for Windows Mobile Device Center to say “Connected” and click “Connect without setting up device”
Use PC downloader to download database to the SD card reader

Take SD card out of USB Reader
Put SD card back into PDA
Soft Reset PDA
Scan several books to make sure it is working

Method 2: Download directly to PDA using PC Downloader

Install and run the PC downloader

Connect PDA to computer
1. Place PDA in cradle and connect USB cable into computer
2. XP – Wait for ActiveSync to say “Synchronized”
3. Vista or Windows 7 – Wait for Windows Mobile Device Center to say “Connected” and click “Connect without setting up device”
