If your items are split into multiple shipments like the screen below, you can use both holding bin and add to an existing shipment strategy to reduce split shipments. In the example below, we are able to create only one shipment for 102 items, and move 3 items in the Holding Bin for the next batch.

Please check this topic to learn how to use a holding bin to move items from a smaller shipment. This will reduce split shipments. After you move items from each smaller shipment to the holding bin, you will have one big shipment, while the rest of your items are in the holding bin.

  1. Create a new shipment.

  1. You go to the “Add” screen, click Holding Bin, and add them into the current batch. You then go to the “Ship” screen. TurboLister will request a new shipment plan for the items added from the Holding Bin. Now you have one big shipment and 2 smaller shipments.

  1. Repeat the Holding Bin strategy until you have only one big shipment. In this case, only 3 items out of 105 items are in the Holding Bin. 102 items will go to the same warehouse LAX9.

  1. Click “Create Shipment”. Because these 15 items also go to LAX9, so you can add those 15 items into the shipment you just created in step 1. You select the “Add to existing” option and choose the shipment created from step 1.

  1. Go to the “Box” screen to work on the box content for this shipment. In this case, you can see there are 102 items in this shipment, where 87 items were added when you create this shipment, and 15 items were added when you add to the existing shipment. So you ship 102 items in one shipment and leave 3 items in the holding bin for the next batch.
